Just across the road from The Old Milking Parlour is the entrance to the beautiful Kenidjack Valley. This is one of the best walks you’ll find in the area. From here you can access Botallack, Porthledden and Cape Cornwall and beyond via the South West Coastal Path. Why not take a picnic with you and make a day of it? There’s a haversack and picnic blanket in the cupboard, together with sandwich boxes, bags and flasks for you to use during your stay. Try exploring the Coastal Path to Sennen, you can always catch the bus back!
Dog food, treats, etc
Visit Clemo’s Pet Food Shop, they cater for everything you need for your dog and are situated just off the square in St Just. We know how much room the dog food takes up in the car, so why not order prior to coming down and they will deliver your pet’s goodies straight to The Old Milking Parlour.
Dog friendly beaches
There are a number of beaches nearby where dogs are allowed all-year round, including Priest’s Cove at Cape Cornwall and Gwenver beach just around the corner. Others worth visiting include Porthallow, Porthoustock, Porthleven, Prussia Cove, Nanjizel, Portheras and Boat Cove. Some beaches, such as Sennen & Porthcurno have seasonal bans, however dogs can use these from October through to Easter.
Eats & Drinkies
St Just really welcomes dogs! There are many places to visit: Try the Cookbook shop for coffees, lunches etc and also the Kegen Teg in the Square, which does delicious homemade food. Good Pubs to try are the Star Inn, Kings Arms, Commercial Hotel and the Queens Arms at Botallack.
